As well as being a small business owner myself, I have financial and general management experience with various size companies from start-ups to international organizations in many different industries. Creating business plans and using financial and non-financial information to create forecasts, make business decisions and explain business performance is second nature. My position has often been the one responsible for "all other" activities, which means I can discuss or recognize issues with business and health insurance, personnel, corporate IT policies, negotiations and contract compliance, and other administrative functions. Since business planning pulls together the financial impact of all activity, recognizing and forecasting the financial impact of marketing and operations, for example, has also been a big component of my experience. My titles have been CFO, VP Finance, VP Administration, and similar positions. I can normally relate to at least some practical experience for most clients, having worked with both for-profit and non-profit education systems, manufacturing companies, and in the wholesale distribution , and entertainment (record label and music touring company) industries. I have been consultant since 2002 and owned an independent management consulting company since 2004. Previously (a long time ago) I was a partner/co-owner in a retail store and a computer consulting company. I have been on the Board and past Treasurer of a non-profit inner city youth/family support organization and the have been the Treasurer of a community Hispanic coalition. Now my focus is SCORE and a charity hospital in Haiti.
